Affiliated College means an institution recognized by and affiliated to the Rajshahi University in accordance with the provisions of this Act, the statutes and the University ordinance. According to the Act of 1973, the expansion of education in Rajshahi University is mentioned. Sections 10, 11 and 12 of Chapter Two of the Rajshahi University ordinance shed light on the activities of affiliated colleges. The affiliated colleges shall be governed under the management of the Governing Body.

Inspector of Colleges: The Inspector of Colleges shall be appointed by the Syndicate on the recommendation of a selection committee consisting of-

1. The Vice-Chancellor;
2. Two Deans to be nominated by the Academic Council;
3. Two non-salaried members of the Syndicate to be nominated by the Syndicate; and
4. Two persons are to be appointed by the chancellor.

The Inspector of colleges shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by the statutes and the University ordinance.

The Inspector of Colleges conducts all the approval processes of the affiliated institutions. An inspection committee is first formed to check the feasibility of approval of the Institute. The report of the Inspection Committee is approved by the affiliation committee. Finally, affiliation is granted after approval of the Syndicate.
